As China moves towards the heavy industrialization, a huge demand of iron ores has been triggered in domestic markets. So far China’s iron ore import depends heavily upon three countries, and the global iron ore export markets have been monopolized, leading to a loss in negotiation rights in international iron ore markets. China is always in a passive status in iron ore trade which jeopardizes domestic economy. This paper analyzes the causes of price rise in importing iron ores and of losing rights to be rater, and presents approaches to the unfavorable situations.
Large oil-gas fields with over 100 million tons of yield have been recently discovered in volcanic rocks in Songliao basin and Dzungaria basin. This paper, based on the geology and distribution of oil-gas reservoir in volcanic rocks, analyzes the status of oil-gas resources hosted in volcanic rocks, forecasts the prospect in some blocks to be discovered. It concludes that volcanic-hosted oil-gas reservoir is of great prospect to be explored as a new vital field in the future.
Inner Mongolia Municipality is abundant in mineral resources such as coal, REE, non-ferrous metals, precious metals, and non-metallic minerals including chemical, metallurgical and construction materials, which provide a vita base for economic development. This paper analyzes the supply and demands of major metallic minerals and concludes that lead and zinc have a sufficient supply but need further management to avoid a surplus, that rich iron, chrome, manganese and copper have an insufficiency in supply, needing geological exploration, that gold, which was an advantageous resource, is facing a low resource guarantee level due to a rapid mining and necessitates some new discoveries, and that some abundant metals like silver and niobium need to be improved in development and utilization regardless of their high guarantee level.
